Helping Hand Show
Created by Joel Amill
My dad told me, “Son, you could have all the success in this world, but if you didn’t help make someone's life better, then you did nothing with your life.” Creating this Helping Hand show is my way of making my dad's words come true. No one is perfect; we all try to survive. But sometimes, we feel alone and cannot see the light. Tomorrow often becomes too difficult to reach. That's when we discuss our problems with family, friends, and strangers. With help from others, people can survive difficult times. The Helping Hand show tells stories of people facing life problems. The message from these stories is that we survive together, and no one stands alone.
The Helping Hand Show brings actors together to tell a story through different characters that portray someone's real-life problem. Maybe the elderly are struggling with hallway stairs, someone battling with sickness, surviving unemployment, being homeless, facing discrimination and bullying, the reality of a divorce, and living through depression. These are just some of the topics touched on through these stories. Even though all these stories are fiction, they deal with social problems that we may face and give encouraging solutions. They are told in a loving way and deliver inspiration and faith. They do not portray superheroes coming to the rescue but ordinary people just like you who offer help in their own way. They offer their helping hand to help you survive your problem. You may be a family member, friend, or stranger who gives guidance, support, love, friendship, knowledge, and understanding. We all need love, and that comes in many ways. These shows may, at some time, feel real and reflect your life and what you are currently dealing with. If that’s true, then understand this: there is someone just waiting to offer you their helping hand.
